A Sparkling Christmas

Join us virtually as we share what we have learned in class so far and celebrate the holiday season! Each year all of our classes and students perform in our annual Christmas show. We are unable to hold our performance in a theater at this time, but the show must go on! Our 2020 Christmas Show, A Sparkling Christmas will be filmed at the studio during our classes, the week of Nov. 30th – Dec. 3rd. Performing is a valuable part of the learning process in the performing arts, so we don’t want to miss this. We will treat our classes that week just as though you are arriving at the theater to perform in the Christmas performance!

Putting on performances benefits our dancers and audiences and is also an important part of our business. In lieu of purchasing show tickets and keepsake DVDs we are charging a flat $35 Christmas Show fee per family due by Nov. 12th to allow us to film and compile each class for the show AND give you a copy of the show on DVD to watch at home and share with loved ones.  Our finished product will be a seamless compilation of all of our routines just as you would see from the audience. Since part of the fun is watching “together,” we will virtually premiere A Sparkling Christmas that very weekend for all to watch at the same time on most devices! (Those details TBA closer to date.) DVDs of the show will then be handed out the following week at classes, the last week of classes before winter break.

Since performances will be during regularly scheduled class time, we hope EVERYONE will be able to participate! As an added bonus we will be drawing for five prizes ranging from $25 - $100 in value! You can earn raffle tickets for these prizes by: 1) Participating in A Sparkling Christmas 2) Paying your $35 fee by Nov. 12th 3) Watching the live premiere and leaving a comment. Drawings will be pulled following the performance and handed out the last week of class before winter break.

 

Here is how you should prepare.

Students should wear the outfit described under their class type on our Dress Code Sheet  along with the $5 headpiece/accessory specifically for their class. These accessories will be passed out in November for you to keep. Please note that some classes, such as Troupe, may be wearing different costumes—instructors will inform both the students and parents if this is the case.

 

All performers should wear their hair in a tight ballet bun unless otherwise specified by the instructor. Acrobatics classes classes should wear their hair in a ponytail. Correct costumes (including tights, headpieces, and shoes), hair, and make-up should be worn to "class" for the performance week, 11/30 - 12/3. No jewelry or nail polish should be worn while in costume. 

Makeup List: Pink/Berry lipstick, Rose blush, Neutral eye shadows to define and brighten eyes, Eyeliner, Mascara, Eyebrow pencil, Foundation/Concealer, Contour/Highlight as needed, False Eyelashes ages 13+

Ages 12 & under do not need false eyelashes and can do a simplified version of the stage makeup including lipstick, blush, mascara, and eyebrow pencil with other elements optional.
